People-Park Interaction: A Case of Bandhavgarth National Park, India
KurzbeschreibungProtected areas (PAs) are essential for conserving biodiversity but at the same time form an important source of subsistence and income generation for forest dependent communities. This study assessed the degree of dependence of people on the resources of one such PA in India and its implications for the PA. This assessment can help in the design of policies aimed at reducing people’s dependence on the PA resources leading to more effective conservation as well as in providing viable alternatives to the people for their economic upliftment. |
