Dr. Andew Wilson

Dr. Andrew Wilson is currently Senior Lecturer in Linguistics and Chairman of the University Centre for Computer Corpus Research on Language at Lancaster University, GB. He graduated in Classics from Girton College, Cambridge, and holds MA and PhD degrees in Linguistics from Lancaster University. He has previously held academic posts at the Technische Universität Chemnitz and the University of Wales, Bangor. Dr. Wilson has published widely in applied linguistics, especially in corpus and quantitative linguistics, but the core of his research interests lies in the development and application of computer-assisted content analysis. His current work focusses on applying this methodology in two broad areas, both related directly to issues of language and religion: first, the lexicographical treatment of the Latin Vulgate Bible, and, second, the psychoanalysis of religious and mystical experience, including its relationship to fetishism and the emerging paradigm of "Indecent Theology". Dr. Wilson is the author or co-author of some five books and more than forty shorter works.
